Northern Spotted Owl Surveys
Oregon and Washington

The northern spotted owl was listed in 1990 as a "threatened" species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) of 1973 by both the USFWS and the State of Oregon. Surveys for nothern spotted owl are conducted to better understand occupancy within and near potential project areas. Turnstone has conducted spotted owl surveys in Oregon and Washington, for a combination of Federal, State, Tribal and Private agencies. Turnstone biologists conduct habitat suitability assessments, remote imagery analysis, and field surveys to help inform land managers as to the suitability and occupancy of sites for spotted owl nesting and foraging.
